You can have a column in date table for the current month
current flag= if(eomonth([Date]) = eomonth(Max(Table[Date]),0) , 1, 0)
then you can use as a filter
Calculate( Sum(Table[Value]), filter (Date, date[current flag] =1))

What if I only have the columns for the month but no columns for date?

Date = datevalue("01-"&[Month] & "-" & [Year])
only month
Date = datevalue("01-"&[Month] & "-" & Year(Today()) )
