Display matrix values based on month passed power BI

Hi Guys,

I am trying to display a matrix with budget and expense values. 

The values should be such that :

Display both budget and expense values for all historical months and years

Display  only the budget values for the upcoming months (because expense hasnt been generated yet)

I was trying to use date function but didnt work.

Please let me know your thoughts.

What issue do you get when using date functions? Could you please share sample data of your original table and post expected result following the guide in this thread?
