Hi Team,
Could you please help me in configuring the below requirement in power BI.
When the user hovers on a column it should display a tooltip with a custom test associated with that column.
for example, in the below screenshot if the user hovers on any value or header of sales % he should be able to see how it was computed i.e (sales/Total Sales). Basically users wanted to know what is the formula used for computing the sales% by hovering on the sales %

Hi @Anonymous ,
Would you please try to use page level tooltips? You can create a card in tooltips and show how it was computed in the card visual:
Please refer to the https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-tooltips for detailed steps.
And you can also refer to the pbix file: https://qiuyunus-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/pbipro_qiuyunus_onmicrosoft_com/ETmwjv0PKg1FmHo9-PrfKVIBCRpIhAcenrSJi_ZzMPsqzQ?e=gcCgcy

@Anonymous Tooltips do not dispaly hovering over headers, you have to hover over a cell. You have to do this in Desktop though, for Excel I do not know of a solution for a table like what you are showing. Looks like you are in Excel.
Hi @Greg_Deckler ,
Thanks for the reply.
Just to show an example I mocked up some data in excel, my actual req is to get this done in power bi desktop.
It would be great if we can display the formula on the hover of the cell.

@Anonymous , In the tooltip option you can use a measure. Or create a tooltip page
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-tooltips
Hi @amitchandak ,
If I use a measure and use that in the tooltip that would show up when the user hovers on any column and it would be misleading.
Also would like to share that, likewise, I have around 20 calculated columns with different formulas, so would display the formula used for all the columns please share your input on how we can handle this.
