Hi guys,

is it possible to disable the right-click Drill-Up/ Show Next Level in Matrix?

I've already disabled from the "Header icons"

Thankfully no.  If you want to avoid drill up then only have one item in the rows or columns, or use a table visual.

HI @KeshaShah11 ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.

In Power BI, the right-click context menu options like "Drill up" and "Show Next Level" in matrix visuals cannot be fully disabled through standard UI settings even if you turn off the header icons in the visual formatting pane. The right-click menu is part of Power BI's built-in functionality to maintain accessibility to drill features.

Can you please try below options to limit or prevent drill-down/up interactions:

1. Flatten the hierarchy: Avoid using a hierarchy in the matrix rows or columns. Use individual fields instead, which removes drill functionality entirely because there's nothing to drill.

2. Disable Stepped Layout: While this doesn't remove right-click drill options, it visually discourages hierarchical interaction. Format your matrix → Row headers → Turn Stepped layout = Off

3. Use bookmarks and buttons instead: Create custom navigation (e.g., bookmarks with filtered views) to simulate drill behavior but keep it under your control. Then remove all interactivity from the matrix visual itself.

4. Lock down the report (in Power BI Service): If you're sharing the report in Power BI Service, you can publish it to an app and restrict interactions by: Hiding filter panes, Preventing editing in shared views, Avoiding exposure to the underlying dataset

Note: Currently, Power BI does not allow disabling right-click interactions (like "Drill Up") via visual or report-level settings.
