Hi all!
I have a visual object table in power bi.
Can I turn off automatic table selection?
(I can not try with a shape with background disabled and transparency 100% because I have a tooltip to display when you hover over the table)
Can someone help me?
Thanks
Hi @Fern_21
can you please describe what you want to achieve? Prevent the selected table to interact with other visuals or what exactly do you mean by "automatic table selection"?
Thanks
Hi @hashtag_pete !
I would like to prevent the user from selecting and consequently highlighting a record from the table.
It has happened that a user selected a record from the table and then selected a filter. Even if there is no match between the records in the table and the selected filter, the table still remains filtered.
This could create confusion for the user.
I hope I have been clear in my explanation.
Thank you.
Hi @Fern_21 ,
There doesn't seem to be such a feature. Also, how does your Tooltip work if you don't select the visual object.
If you would like to suggest feature improvements, you may vote the idea and comment here to improve this feature. It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.

Hi @Anonymous !
The tooltip would still work even without automatic selection because to display it, it is enough to hover the mouse over the table without clicking the records.
Thanks
