I'm querying from a source that houses information linked to many different companies (CompanyIds) but I wanted to only query data related to one company by passing CompanyId as a parameter.
Looking at Advanced Editor:
I was successful previously when I was sourcing from a normal server by creating a value parameter in BI and this query (first image):
where the parameter name is CompanyId
However, I am not sure how to translate that with this new azure source (second image).
hi @Anonymous
You could refer to this blog, and please note that
Query parameter doesn't work in Power BI Service for the report which is Direct Query for now.
See this blog:
https://blog.gbrueckl.at/2019/03/using-power-bi-desktop-direct-query-with-parameters/
In direct query mode, It is only supported in power bi desktop.
Also, you need to make sure that you have entered the credentials for the different source databases at least once – otherwise Power BI will ask you when you query the database the first time. This is also the reason why this does not work so well in the Power BI service as changing the parameters there is not as simple as it is in Power BI desktop.

Lin
