DirectQuery Live Update visuals

Hi Community,

I am trying to set up a model in PowerBI that has a mixed storage mode - one table that uses DirectQuery and other imported tables from Sharepoint.

My goal is to make a report that uses "real-time" data from the table that are imported with DirectQuery, and in some cases it works and it other cases it wont and i can't figure out why.

The case is that i am writing some data back to the table that uses DirectQuery (an Azure SQL database), and my expectation would be that my visuals would update accordingly when new data are updated in the Azure SQL Database (i also have automatic page refresh on that detect changes in the dataset every 1 sec).

The case below i have just written data back to the Customer "SEJ" with SalesResponsible "IEA". In the Filter Dropdown when selecting "All" the original value is present but when i am selecting "SEJ" the value that has been updated is shown very fine as shown below:

How can i fix this issue and have my visuals updated with "live-data" from tables when these are updated?

Does the page actually refresh automatically, or is your automatic refresh perhaps broken / set to a time interval lower than the settings in the Admin Portal permits?

Does the values flow through if you manually click the visual refresh button?

I'm asking because with Automatic Refresh every 1 sec you should see the visuals constantly refreshing. You could try and set it to 30 seconds and see if it makes a difference.

Hi,

I works fine when i am manually refreshing the visuals.

I have tried to change the automatic page refresh with 5 sec intervals and seems to have fixed the issue. Earlier i had automatic page fresh with data detection on for every 1 sec, which didnt work optimal.

So far it seems to have worked increasing the interval. Thanks!
