Direct query without rollup

Hi,

I have been trying the following and it is driving me crazy. I must be missing something basic 🙂

I have a table which shows some summarized results:

Order     item    quantity

1             a          2

Sometimes users want to see the raw order data. So I have a drillthroug that used a direct query to fetch the data of this order. This works great:

Order     item    quantity      text

1             a          1                text 1

1             a          1                text 2

Except when all the lines are the same! There are just more lines however the bottom line is not shown because PBI automatically aggregates the data.

Order     item    quantity      text

1             a          1                text 1

1             a          1                text 1 (not shown)

I have set all columns in the table visual to "do not summarize". But instead of showing me everything it just shows the single line. Since it is a direct query i cannot add a index column and add it to the visual. If I set the property "keep duplicates" this does not work. I have been checking the parameters of the table visual but a cannot see anything that triggers this behaviour.

I can think of complex ways of solving this. But does anyone have a simple one?

Hi @Anonymous ,

I think that the best way is to create some unique values in your data source and import them. Because of the Direct Query mode, you couldn't create index or rank column in Power BI.
