Hey everyone,
I have some kind of a propblem and I will need your expertise.
I import in power bi for a sql server and I also use direct query to import a PowerBI Dataset.
This PowerBI Dataset has been shared with me by the owner but I do not have access to the underlying data.
When I press refresh to the PowerBI desktop, the imported from sql data works fine and are loaded but the PowerBI dataset is stuck at "Creating connection in model".
What is happening under hte hood? Does the direct query tries to fetch data from the underlying data source that I do not have access to?
I believe that with direct query I do not need to refresh the data myself. Would it be a solution to exclude the PowerBI dataset from the refresh? How can I do that since I cannot see the PowerBI dataset in the Power Query?
Is there any other kind of solution to the problem?
I still need to schedule the imported data from the SQL server to automatically refresh through the service.
Best,
Giorgio

@Gsar , Can you refresh a single table and check. Also, open the power query and check for any error.
Also if you have credentials details -> Go to datasource setting -> clear permission and try again
