Direct Query output using Slicer

I have below select statement in direct query mode and I have Column A as slicer. It looks like in power BI the results for below select statement is derived first and the slicer selection dataset is derived as final output. Which give a wrong output for the requirement as the E value is calculated overall before the slicer is applied. I want the E column to be calculated after the slicer is applied.

Select A,B,C,D,

SUM(D) Over(Partition by B,C) AS E from table

Hi PowerBIUser3004,

According to your description, it seems that you want to use slicer to control data which load in powerbi, right? As I know, the slicer only apply on existing data of report, it can't work conversely on datasource.

If you wnat to achieve this dynamically, I think you could try to use parameter in query. You could refer to Pass parameter to SQL Queries statement using Power BI for details.

Zoe Zhi
