@deepan_94,

Based on your error message, you are using Power BI Desktop for Power BI report server to connect to Oracle. I test the scenario as yours, everything works well.

Could you please verify that if you can connect to Oracle from Oracle SQL developer? Please make sure that SQL developer is installed on  the same machine with Power BI Desktop.

Regards,
Lydia

@Anonymous

I can able to connect to the Oracle. Both the applications were installed on the same machine.

Also, I'm not able to connect power BI Desktop to Oracle.

It's showing the same error message.

@deepan_94,

Does the error occur when you use import mode? And how about you connect to other data sources in Power BI Desktop?

Regards,

Lydia

@Anonymous

In import mode it was working fine.

When I Tried with SQL Server it was working.

But in Oracle I'm getting the error.

@deepan_94,

Do you use VPN in your scenario?

Regards,

Lydia

@Anonymous

I think so Yes, Because I'm connecting it in my VM!!!

If Yes, What can i do?

If No??? Can you tell me why VPN is needed for this purpose?

@deepan_94,

Based on my search, the above error could occur when connecting to database through company VPN, then please verify if you use VPN in your scenario.

There is a similar thread for your reference.

I have discussed with my colleagues .... We are not using VPN.... Since we are working on the client place.... We are directly connecting the Database.....
