Direct Query: Multi query date slicer

Hi

I am just started to meddle with Direct query and a SQL database source. I am pulling in a range of data tables, with a common data structure, but where I seem to be failing is finding a way to have 1 date slicer attached to all tables. I managed to do this in `import` with a CALENDER Function, but the data size will eat away at the import size limitations within a month.

Is there an way of doing this for direct query mode?

Thanks

Hi @EloiseJane ,

It is not supported to create calculated tables in DirectQuery mode. For more limitations, you could reference the document : Modeling limitations .

For your requirement, I think you could Create a date dimension or calendar table in SQL Server and then connect to Power BI to filter all the tables. You can also reference this blog : Create a Dynamic SQL Calendar With DirectQuery Mode in Power BI to have a try.
