Dimensional Modeling

I'm looking join information together from two tables, utilizing the "Quote Number" from both tables as the common denominator through an appended table. However, when I try to create visuals utilizing the information from the "Bookings" and "QuoteStatus" tables with the "Quote Nbr" from Append1, I get an error in the data table.

Hi DaveAtRV,

Have you build a one-many relationship between "Append1" and "Bookings"? Which columns are you using to create the chart and which error occurs? For troubleshooting, could you provide more details about them?

Regards,

Jimmy Tao

Hi @v-yuta-msft, I'm looking to be able to create a table that would display information from both datasets (i.e. an "Estimator") from the "Quote Status" dataset with the "WO", "Market", and "JobDesc" from the "Bookings" table. Does that make sense?

Hi DaveAtRV,

Yes, you can connect to multiple data source with import mode and then merge these tables from different data source. However, when you connect to one power bi dataset, you can not connect to another power bi dataset just like live connection mode.

Regards,

Jimmy Tao
