My data source is a sql database. works fine so far.
I would like to update these queries on a daily basis using scheduled refresh.
No problem so far.
But: I would like to temporarily save or record the status of the data on the 1st day of the month (also in PBI).
--> Different scheduled refresh as first query.
My idea was to query the data in the second case, i.e. monthly, via DirectQuery. (as suggested here: Solved: Can a Report use Multiple Datasets? - Microsoft Power BI Community)
So I have two (multiple) datasets and I am able to set up two different scheduled refreshes.
However in my Power BI workspace I see only one dataset as before.
Any suggestions/ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Hi @max_mustermann ,
//However in my Power BI workspace I see only one dataset as before.
Can you tell me the details of the operation?
My steps is to create two reports (datasets) and configure scheduled refreshes separately. And here I have used import mode for both to ensure that the data is imported into the dataset.
Report 1 manually refreshes the dataset at the beginning of each month, and Report 2 is scheduled to be refreshed daily.
After that you can consider creating a new dashboard and fixing some visual objects or pages to the dashboard for comparison.
Best Regards,
Gao
