Different Sources for a single dashboard/visuals

Hi

I would like to ask on how to use 3 different semantic models or at least data sources (YEAR: 2023, 2024, 2025) in a single trend bar chart.  It shows from January 2023 to February 2025 but what I need is the last 24 months.  Previously, we put everything in one source so my dashboard is crashing due to huge data.  I would like to know if there is a way I can use the 3 years worth of data without destroying my dashboard.  Please help!

  • Hi rkee10 ,

Is it possible to aggregate the data based on any dimension or date. For example, if its daily data, then make to Monthly. That way the number of rows would reduce while bringing from original source.

And also ensure only selected columns are taken from the source.

    Thanks,

    Hi All,
Firstly  pallavi_r thank you for your solutions!

And rkee10 ,According to your description, we can incrementally refresh the data source to help you dynamically get the values within two years without destroying the original report, avoiding the crash problem caused by loading a large amount of historical data, here is the document I found for you, I hope it will help you!

We use the following picture for you to do a layman's explanation, when we configure a good incremental refresh, we can dynamically select the data interval we need according to the time, outside of this part of the data will not be read, which greatly reduces the amount of our data set, to improve the performance of the report to ensure that the data will not be crashed because of the over-sized.

    Hope it helps!
