Our project is set up this way:
1. Data source is Amazon Athena
2. I installed Simba Athena, set it up with AWS credentials, and used the bulit in Amazon Athena connector in Desktop.
3. I published the report to a Premium workspace on Service so the clients can view it.
4. Currently, the data cannot be refreshed.
What should I do? I assume I will need to set up a gateway, but I am confused at how this will work when I am consulting and so the gateway cannot rely on my machine as I will need to turn over the project to client. If I do set up a gateway, will I need to create the connections all over again? How will that work with my measures and calculated columns? Or will the gateway data sources just replace the data source that was published from Desktop?
Sorry for all the questions, I am quite flustered right now. I had assumed that since I was using Athena, this process wouldn't be so complicated.
@DaxPadawan , It is cloud source, so you should be able schedule refresh.
On Power bi service. In dataset line, you have three dots , click on that and go to dataset setting
If needed update data source setting
and they schedule refresh
