Hi,
I am running Azure DevOps Server 2019 Update 1 with Power BI Desktop 2.74.
Within a single DevOps Collection I have multiple projects. Using the connection method Online Services > Azure DevOps Server (Beta) to connect to the source data, I can successfully pull data from Project 1. However, for no reason that I can determine, when I try and pull data from Projects 2, 3 and 4, I get 'This table is empty' in all cases - the data tables in DevOps are not empty.
I'm struggling to understand the inconsistency here, I can't find any configuration settings that differ from Project 1 to the others...but there must be something!
Does anyone have any reasoning as to why one of my projects pulls data, but the all the others don't or any suggestions as to what I can try to fix this issue, please?
Hi,
Thanks for the response. My IT have made an update avialble to me, I am now running version 2.97.921.0, which has the 'Azure DevOps Server(Boards Only)' connector. Unfortunately, this still brings back empty tables of data for all projects other than 1 in the same DevOps Collection.
Hi, @Kevster9
You need check the prerequisites of connect using Analytics with Power BI Data Connector first.
Follow the steps below to get started using the Azure DevOps Power BI Data Connector:
- If you aren't familiar with Analytics, read "what is Analytics" before continuing.
- Install the Power BI Desktop October 2018 Update or a newer version. You can download it from the official Power BI Desktop download page.
- If you haven't been added as a project member, get added now. Anyone with access to the project, except stakeholders, can view Analytics views.
- Boards must be enabled. If it's disabled, Analytics views won't be displayed. To re-enable Boards, see Turn an Azure DevOps service on or off.
- Make sure you have permissions required to access Analytics. If you're a member of the project Contributors group, you have permission.
- Create an Analytics view that you want to create a Power BI report.
- Review the knowledge base of Power BI articles.
