Hi All
I ‘ m facing a very strange scenario with a Direct Query to dataset or AAS storage mode( also called composite v2 model framework ) , on DESKTOP
I ‘ m starting with a pbix live connected to a shared dataset
On my report page , a table visual shows 50 rows (depending a filter)
When I switch this storage mode to Direct query (to DS) , it only remains 10 rows on my visual
Any idea please ? , I know this feature is still on Preview but sounds like a dataset setup ?
Thanks a lot
Hi aj1973
Thanks a lot for your answers
Sorry it's a direct query to Dataset (local dataset ) Desktop switch - also called composite v2
I understand but how can we explain the rows gap on my visual ?
50 rows with a live connection (ds) context
After page refresh
And 10 rows only ...similar filter...After a direct query to ds ( local model) switch ?
In your composite model are you sure that the Dim Tables are refreshed as well as the Fact table?

Hi again Amine
Thanks a lot for help
-Underlying DS refreshed again
-On desktop (DQ to DS what we also called composite V2) actualization done
Unfortunately nothing change
50 rows on a visual with a live connection (ds) context & after page refresh
And 10 rows only ...similar filter...After a direct query to ds ( local model) switch ?
Ok, it is either I am not really catching the real issue to your problem or Power Bi is acting weird.
Sorry...

Thanks
Perhaps it's due to the ds model complexity
It's premium capacities metrics
When your report was connected to the Shared Dataset meaning that the connection might be Live but the Data is not necessary live because the Dataset itself would have to be refreshed or in Live connection mode as well. So when you switch your report to DQ to the source directly then the report will show you the refreshed data depending on the filters applied at that moment.
