Hi, I am having a strange issue where the data in the Desktop application is not loading but the data in-browser does, and it updates. I get the error in the photo below when I open the dashboard in Desktop and Refresh.
Steps I've taken:
- Verified network settings haven't changed (Data is still loading and updating in-browser, so the connections are still working)
- Cleared the Data Cache
- Unchecked "Auto date/time for new files"

You cannot open dashboards in Power BI Desktop. You probably meant "the PBIX file" ( which consists of the dataset and the report definitions).
The error means that your PC cannot see the SQL Server (for example because you didn't connect the VPN) but the service can refresh the dataset because the gateway cluster members can see the SQL server.
