Looking at AdventureWorksDW
has 2 fact tables, FactReseller and FactInternetSales, that are identical except for a couple of fields.
My inclination is to combine them with a "SaleType" column.
The way they are now everytime you want to calculate something against all sales you have to write a measure to add them up. Once they are combined every time you want to calculate something against one or the other you can just include the SaleType field in a matrix.
Anybody had any experience here ? What am I missing ?

@kentyler I think combining makes sense and you filter what you want to see, it is similar to like seeing something by-product or year or month, and it is one of the other dimensions on which you slicer and dice the data.
