I am creating a financial results report that I would like other users to upload their monthly results to (saves me time from having to collect everyone's files, format them, and upload). The users will be uploading Excel files in a table format I prescribe. A couple questions.
(1) Is the best method of accomplishing this to have them go into the query editor and append the table?
(2) If incorrect data is uploaded for a month and it needs to be re-uploaded, is it possible to delete the old data and upload the new? I searched on the forum and couldn't find any good solutions. I am concerned that once data is in Power BI it's difficult to delete out. You have to filter around it or something like that.
Thank you.
@cogsie it is advisable to remove data at source, for example if wrong data file is dropped in a folder, remove the file or overwrite the file with correct data.
Yes using append is the way to go.
