Hi,
I am trying to understand what filter context is and have some questions becasue I see different examples and different explanations.
On sqlbi.com , filter context is explained as "The filter context is the set of filters applied to the data model before the evaluation of a DAX expression starts."
If this is the case, why is it that filter conditions in CALCULATE function are considered filter context ? It is a part of DAX expression, isnt it ?
Also, if CALCULATE is considered filter context, why is FILTER fuction not considered filter context ?
FILTER function can also add filter conditions just like CALCULATE, correct ?
I read the article but it does not really answer my question. My question is still, why is CALCULATE considered filter context when the definition is
"the set of filters applied to the data model before the evaluation of a DAX expression starts."
