Is there a way to have the value of a slicer to be the max date of the column that the slicer is built from? i.e. if the distinct values in the table are:
* 2024-03-01
* 2024-04-01
* 2024-05-01
* 2024-06-01
We would want the selected value = 2024-06-01. When the data for 2024-07-01 is loaded, I would want to default slicer value = 2024-07-01 without having to go into the report, change the slicer value, save the report, and republish.
Thanks!

This is the standard pattern in such a scenario:
- create a string representation of your date column, replace the latest date with a string "Latest"
- sort that new column by the original date column
- add a slicer or visual/page/report level filter
- set the filter to "Latest"
- publish the pbix to the workspace/app
