Default Views with Visual Interactions

Hello, I have 3 possible values in a field (Yes, No, Maybe). I have a donut chart displaying the breakdown of all Yes and No values and a table below this displaying the details of all the Maybe values. Is it possible to set up the following visual interactions? 1. Selecting the Yes or No portion of the donut chart filters the table to show only the details of the corresponding Yes or No records. AND 2. With neither Yes nor No portions of the donut chart selected, show default Maybe values. Note that at any given time, I only want to show either Yes, No, or Maybe values, not all of them.

Hi @emmet,

It's hard to achieve it directly. But we can add a dimension table and use a measure to filter the result. Please download the demo from the attachment.

1. Create a new table.

OptionTable = VALUES(Table1[Options])

2. Establish a relationship.

3. Create a measure.

Measure =
IF (
    ISBLANK ( SELECTEDVALUE ( 'OptionTable'[Options] ) ),
    IF ( MIN ( 'Table1'[Options] ) = "Maybe", "Yes", BLANK () ),
    IF (
        MIN ( Table1[Options] ) = SELECTEDVALUE ( OptionTable[Options] ),
        "Yes",
        BLANK ()
    )
)

3. Add it to the Visual Level Filter.

Hi @emmet,

The interactions between the visuals ae not linked to any conditional interaction so you cannot set it accordingly to the selection.

One way to achieve this would be to have 2 charts with different levels of intractions and using bookmarks show one or the other, just thinking outside of the box.
