Hi there,
I have a report that is using the visual 'Decomposition Tree'. As part of this visual, I can head down the tree with varius columns such as Category, City, University etc to filter out my over arching value that I want to 'Analyze'.
At a certain point in navigating the Decomposition Tree - I wish to export the results of the visual. This is via the 3 dots on the top right of the visual followed by selecting Export Data.
I am expecting my data that has been exported to have been filtered to what I have selected when navigating the Decomposition Tree. However, once exported the data shown is as if no filtering/selections have been made and I then have to re-select/filter my data in Excel as I had done in the Power BI visual.
Is this by design or a bug? I am sure this is a bug but now questioning myself.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Hello good morning
To all
I'm new to the forum and new to POWER BI, I want to know if you can help me.
I found this issue and I believe it relates to and/or has to do with my case
Generate a report with its respective visualization and at the time of exporting to Excel with a seller filter, because the idea is that only the seller's filter is downloaded, however the report goes down but not filtered it lowers the 20 sellers that I have related, I want to know if this depends on some parameterization or I am doing something wrong at the time of exporting
I appreciate your help
Hi @Anonymous ,
I have tested this locally and there is no problem, the exported data is filtered.
And expect result:
And if question still not solved ,could you pls share your pbix file ,and remember to remove confidential data.
Best Regards
Lucien
Apologies, I don't mean filtering via the filter pane - but 'filtering' through the Decomposition tree visual.
As I navigate through the Decomposition tree, I want my export to excel to reflect what I have selected in the visual.
In the visual below, I expand on ID to Category then expand on the Category 'C' where I can then see the City options. In my excel export, I am expecting the results there to only show where Category = C etc.
