Day number in a month

For a date table I want to count the number of the day in a month which is extracted from a date. So in January the first is 1, the second day is 2 till the end of the month which is 31. In Februari the first day is 1 etcetra till the end of the month which is 28 (or 29). My DAX knowledge is not on a level yet that i can solve this. I found a year counter on the forum but I could find this monthly counter.

I think there is a similar formula in excel.

You can use DAY(EOMONTH(date column)) which will give you the number of days. Just use DAY for day number.
