Dates in wrong order

Hello,

I imported my SQL Table to Power Bi and created a simple chart. The entries have a DateTime field.

The oldest Entries are starting in October 2017 and the newest are now in March 2018.

Unfortunately the chart starts with January, February, March 2018 and then continues with October, Nowvember and December 2017 (see the Screenshot).

I want that the chart starts with October 2017 and ends with March 2018. Thanks for your help!

Hi @flixius,

There are two ways you could refer to.

1. You could use the date hierarchy as the value of X-axis. Then you will get the output below.

 2. You could create a Month calculated column then sort by date.

The result is below.

If you need additional help please share some data sample. You can upload it to OneDrive or Dropbox and post the link here. Do mask sensitive data before uploading.)

hi! i used your advised and i created a new measure that sorted my dates - that's worked, however now i have my visual ordered not month-by-month but from the highest number to the lowest (or in other way around).

Obviously that's not what i want to show. how can  i sort my visual in different way? i've already sort them by a new column.... i am not able to unticked "sort (des)ascending"
