Dates in Filter function

I'm wanting to look at some analysis on my table before  certain date, but i'm getting an error.

I'm trying to use FILTER, but it won't seem to allow a date criteria. =FILTER(Table, Date<"01/06/2018") and FILTER(Table, Date<"VALUE(01/06/2018")) don't seem to work.

Any suggestions?

FILTER returns a table as an output, are you using it in CALCULATE to pass filters, or in some other way?
Measure can only return a scalar value, same with calculated column
Syntax wise - it should look like this

 FILTER(Table, Table[Date]<"01/06/2018")
