DateDiff shows different result in Desktop vs web

Hi Guys,

I've got a field within a table that stores the date/time a record was created. This is stored in the UK setting - I.e: 24/04/2020 09:15.

I have another field that has a measure applied which calculates the days since the date shown and stores a numerical value -

Days_since_last_update = DATEDIFF(COVIDStaffList[LastUpdated],TODAY(),DAY).

When I'm in the desktop app this works perfectly. The date in the 'LastUpdated' column says 24/04/2020 09:15, and in the "Days_since_last_update" field it says 7 (or whatever is the correct number). This pulls through to the web view fine.

However, if the date in the 'LastUpdate' column is today 01/05/2020 13:45, the Desktop app shows "Days_since_last_update" field as 0, which is correct. However when I look at that in the web view it shows it at 117.

Has anyone seen this before??

Best wishes
Matt

Hi @az38,

Could you point me in the right direction to set that?

In the desktop options for the current file ->Regional Settings -> English (United Kingdom).

I can add ?language=en-GB on the end of the URL string which shows the dates fields correctly, but the measure obviously doesn't update. Is there a setting within the PBX file I'm missing or something within the dataset?

Thanks

Hi @mattsampson ,

Is this problem sloved?
If not, please let me know.

Best Regards,
Liang

@mattsampson

unfortunately I cannot to find strong and guaranteed solution with settings for myself.

Usually, I have to use some DAX DATE() or Power query #datetime() using workaround

Hi @mattsampson

it is regional settings and localization issue.

your 01/05/2020 13:45 could be interpreted as 5 Jan or 1st of May in diffrent localizations
