Date parameter in report builder showing an error

I have  built a paginated report in report builder  but when i try to add a date parameter filter i keep getting this error message when i try to run my report (The property 'ValidValues' of report parameter 'FromTasksACTSTARTDATE' doesn't have the expected type.) I have  looked at some suggested soltuion but  cant get the issue resolved, does any one have any suggestions on what i need to do to fix it

According to the error message, please try the solution in this similar thread:

If you want to use set Boolean type parameter and get value from the query.

You should use type bit  in SQL Server to instead other type,and when you edit the bit type column ,you will found that

whatever you input 1/0 or True/False ,the data always changes into True/False. Please check your data type for the “Boolean type” column.

If you can’t use bit type, you should  change the parameter’s type  as text .

this is not solving my issue- i have tried both suggestions and still having same issue. i cant use the boolean option becasue users need to be able to pick dates themselves
