Date hierarchy

hi,

wanted to ask when i can change the date view to date hierarchy (when clicking on the arrow on the visual edit: values-date )there is sometimes option to select date hierarchy, when?

maybe this function is disable on direct query?

If the column is recognized as a Date or Date/Time type, then you should have that option. Either that is not supported in DirectQuery or for some reason it is not recognizing it as a Date or Date/Time type, perhaps Text?

As I tested in direct query mode, when a date field is already in a hierarchy, it will populate entire hierarchy will all level fields into visual if you click on a date field. Otherwise, it will show a single date field only, even the data type is recognized as date.
