Date format & data entry issues

Hello,

Any ideas about how to fix a date that was wrongly entered into a spreadsheet (data source) and it is connected to the power bi dashboard:

the format I keep using is dd-mm-yyyy but other people who use this spreadsheet do copy-paste from different sources and then the date reaches me in mm-dd-yyyy format

ex:

date on the sheet and thus power bi: period start: 20-5-2022, period end 7-1-2022

it should be: period start: 20-5-2022, period end 1-7-2022

what i usuallly do is strip it out in power query so split the date field into its 3 parts, and re concatenate it in the correct order.

If I took the time to answer your question and I came up with a solution, please mark my post as a solution and /or give kudos freely for the effort 🙂 Thank you!
