Date Period Help

Hi  all,

I'll appreciate it if someone can help me. 

I'm creating a custom date period to used in my report. I already have a date period. 
What I did was to create a new table and use this dax but the MTD and QTD is showing incorrect dates. MTD is showing Dec dates instead of Aug and QTD is showing from Oct to date instead of from July and YTD is showing from Jan - DEc instead of Jan - August.

ADDColumns(
  DATESMTD('Date'[Date]),
  "Type", "MTD"
)
