Date Column Labels Offset By One

I am having an issue where I need total amounts per month, the data is already grouped my month with the date being the last day of the month. In a table this works fine and looks correct but when i choose a stacked column chart the column names are offset by one. ex: jul data has no label, june data is labeled jul, may data is labled jun . . .

Does anyone know what could be causing this issue? I am using the string date not the date heirarchy due to that only showing the year or month not both combined.
