Dataset Refresh - Issue

My laptop lock screen has shut down the VPN and the VPN has shut down the Power BI gateway which stopped refreshing the dataset from the oracle database. I cannot change my lock screen settings because of our institute data protection policy. Any suggestions, please?

@kh0050 i guess you are using On-premises data gateway (personal mode), in that case you will need to have your personal computer where personal gateway installed to be on all the time. Also, VPN should also be available else data will not get refershed. I have faced similar issue accessing AWS DB from my local computer. 

I would recommend using On-premises data gateway (standard mode) to overcome this problem,

@kh0050 , Ideally power bi Gateway should be on a separate machine that should always be on.

Better install it on always-on machine
