Hi all!
Bear with me please as it will be a long one.
I create a PBI report using PBI Desktop and the data source is Dataflow Gen1: PBI Service Workspace > Dataflow Gen1 pulling data from D365 CRM - Dataverse > Semantic Model created on the Workspace accordingly.
PBI Desktop connects to the source just fine and loads all tables and data I need and I can visualise them in Power Quey; however,
not all data/rows load to the PBI tables/visuals - it has previously loaded tho.
A few things I already checked:
- Source, credentials, permissions and authentication
- Filters and steps in Power Query
- Filters in PBI (page, all pages, visual)
- All the schedule refreshes but also did loads of manual refresh (on both Semantic model and refreshed the Dataflow itself)
- Cleared cache and checked Data load settings
So basically, the data I used to see in PBI tables before that would match the data in the CRM, has "disappeared" but only from the report view, not PQ.
I then decided to create a new PBI Desktop file and loaded the data from the same source (Dataflow created in PBI Workspace) and this time, it loaded everything (as it did previously).
Before I go ahead and start building everything again, any thoughts please? I just don't want to build it all again and then face the same issue a few days/weeks after.
Thank you so much in advance,
Ana

The data view is the second one.
Not sure what you mean by filtering the missing data since it's not missing from PQ and just from the visual tables -- Since the missing data are in pq, you can filter pq to just those rows and load only those to the model. If they don't show up there but are in the data view then as mentioned, check for hidden slicers and filters in the filter pane. You can add a clear all slicers button as well. Additionally, if you're using a measure that returns blank for some rows, they could be the culprit as by default, rows with blank values are not shown.

This usually happens if you recently modified the dataflow query. I would try refreshing the dataflow again or Power BI desktop. Or perhaps you've applied a filter in the desktop query and you forgot about it.

Hi danextian,
The report view I mentione in PBI, is the one below - where you create your visuals:
Like I said, I check all filters and queries everywhere: PQ/PBI/Dataflow.
Not sure what you mean by filtering the missing data since it's not missing from PQ and just from the visual tables (again, no filters at all). So for example, I if filter the records by User in PQ I can see more records (in the PQ table) than what I see on the visual table (on the report view). So there is no way I can filter the missing data since it's missing?!
Thanks,
Ana

Hi, I was being really stupid actually, gound my mistake.
Thank you for all your patience anyway and will accept your response as a solution as you've been trying to help 🤗
Hi danextian,
Like I said in my post, already checked all of that.
Thanks,
Ana
You said report view. How about in the table/data view? Are the missing data in there?
I would also try filtering pq to just the missing data and load it to the table and check if they're still missing. If they're still missing, check the filter panes or for hidden slicers.
