DataFormat.Error: We couldn't parse the input provided as a Date value

Hi,

I am importing a table to Power BI desktop from an Excel fileUntitled.jpg

And for some reason I am getting an error like this:

DataFormat.Error: We couldn't parse the input provided as a Date value.
Details:
B.2007.46.006

Why is the system even trying to treat that read cell as a date? And the strangest thing is that the error pops up after I have totally removed that column from the table.

I tried to change the data type to text for the column that gives the error message but it did not solve the issue.

Please advise!

Madis

hi, @MadisMerk

I have tested on my side, it works well. You may try to change the data type to text for this column.

Note: Must choose Replace current
