Data update.

Hello

I have my computer the power BI file, which I have taken the data source from different databases. Sometimes of common company share points, and on other occasions of excel files that I have on my work computer.

I upload the Power BI file to my "Workspace".

When I try to update the data through the "Semantic Model" I get an error in which it tells me that there is an error in the dataset and that the update is disabled.

I don't know which way to use to solve this problem. From what I have been informed it seems that the problem would be because part of my data is on my computer. So there would be two possibilities:

1. Local Data Gateway. It is used to transfer data that is not in the cloud.

2. Switch the excel files to the company's cloud.

Which path should I follow? In case it is point 1 to update a gateway it tells me that the last gateway needs to be downloaded in standard mode. Before you do anything... Can you explain to me why this has to be done? The truth is that I don't understand it very well.

• Why you need it: If some of your data is stored on your local computer or on-premises servers, the Power BI Service needs a way to access that data when refreshing. The gateway ensures a secure transfer of data between your local environment and Power BI Service.
• Standard mode: This refers to the standard installation of the gateway, which supports both scheduled and on-demand refreshes for data stored locally. By installing the gateway, you're enabling Power BI to update your reports using data that is not in the cloud.

2. Switching Excel Files to the Cloud:
