Have a strange problem with my data. It's showing perfectly fine in Query Editor, I can refresh the preview and even make changes to the structure of the table, but the table in Data View is entirely empty, apart from the fact it exists and has headings.
Anyone had an issue like this?
(already tried credentials, they're fine, as I'm getting data from this source to other tables as well, which work)
I should also point out this worked last week, we were seeing data correctly, so would be good to know what might have caused this.

Hi @Anonymous
the problem is solved as in the end all I needed to to was to refresh the data. Not sure why but it disappeared from Data View (it had been present there before) and was showing only in Query Editor, but once I ran a refresh it populated again.
Weird, but solved.
Hi @SevsBo ,
There could be several reasons why data is displayed in the query editor preview but not in the data view. One possible reason could be due to the use of Direct Query mode. In Direct Query mode, no data is imported into Power BI, and the model only defines the structure. As you create or interact with a visualization, Power BI Desktop queries the underlying data source, which means you're always viewing current data.
Another possible reason could be related to data type issues. For example, if a visual includes a column using a date/time data type that includes milliseconds, it might not display the data in Direct Query mode due to a limitation.
In addition, the following one have the same problem as yours. Hope its solution can help you solve the problem.
Solved: Query editor shows rows but data is not available ... - Microsoft Fabric Community
one of the issues we found is that in a certain table an array was present and CDS did not handle this the way it was expected. Instead of using CDS we now use ODATA (and manipulated the applicable table), which allows us to link to the necessary data/tables. Using ODATA, in our case, also solves some other random issues like Timeouts.
If the above one can't help you, please provide the following info for the further investigation?

Hi @SevsBo ,
I faced the same issue. I saw data for 2024 in Power Query, but I did not see them after refreshing or restart of the program to the Power BI table view. I want to write here for future reference that, I solved my issue by filtering the data in the power query only to those that are missing. Then, I closed the query and saw the missing data. After that, I returned to the power query and removed the filter.
I do not know why the BI gets stuck like this.
Thank you! Saved me from recreating my entire "doomed" report.
One workaround I found is to create a copy of the column in Power Query, close and apply. Then you'll see both the new and the new - copy column, then you can go back to PQ to remove the copy and close and apply again.
This worked for me, make a new custom column and it will show.
I have applied this method, it didn't worked for me.
I now have an open ticket with MSFT for this issue. FYI/FWIW.
Same. I'm using Version: 2.137.751.0 64-bit (October 2024), and I can see my merged data in the query editor, but dropping those columns onto a table visual doesn't show the data in the columns for all columns. Don't recall ever seeing this behavior before this latest version.
Hi @SevsBo ,
It's glad to hear that your problem has been resolved. And thanks for sharing your solution here. Could you please mark your post as Answered? It will help the others in the community find the solution easily if they face the same problem as yours. Thank you.
