Pleasant day to everyone!
We have data source from a folder. The folder is updated every week by adding a excel data (as attached sample below). Each excel file contains at least 50K rows. As we keep adding the files we are now in Week-41, Power BI is very slow now when refreshing the data. When refresh it starts refreshing from Week-1 to the current week data file which is taking time to update/refresh the PBI. We actually need the current week file to be refresh only as the previous weeks are historical data and does not need to be refresh.
Could you please suggest or provide a solution on how to update/refresh the current file which was recently added and not whole files inside the folder.
Thank you and your help in resolving this problem is very much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
- use the folder connector
- filter for the files you want (by name pattern)
- sort the files by last modified date descending (or created date etc)
- grab the binary for the first row (index 0)
Thank you @lbendlin but can you please provide a details how to do it or a reference video or link reference.
would be easier if you provided a couple sample files.
