Data format change

Dear friends,  I have made a report using two  Excel files , using merge files from folder option from Power querry. Now the guy which sends me data is saying that from Tommorow he will send me data in csv format . Is it possible to merger Excel file with csv data file  Or I will have to make a new model and report using all three csv

It should work if both of the below conditions are satisfying 

  • If you haven't applied any file type filter
  • If your CSV file schema (Sheet name, column headers ) remains the same.

If possible, try to convert your existing excel file and verify the scenario.

@Sujit_Thakur , Create an import with csv. Go to Edit Query mode. right click and open advance editor. Copy the source information.

 

Go and update the same in excel source.

HI @Sujit_Thakur ,

 

You can combine a excel file and csv file in Power BI if they have same structure, same number of columns, same column names.
