Data Source Settings

I am pulling an Excel file from my desktop successfully but when I rename that file and put anonther Excel file on my desktop with the original name it stills pulls the old Excel even with the name changed. I have verified the Data souce settings and is pointing correctly.

I solved my own issue. There is a refresh button on the main desktop power BI screen.

You might be seeing a cached version of the preview in the query editor. Try this to test

1. Change both file names so that neither of them match your data source connection.

2. Refresh the data, you should get an error (cannot find file, etc.)

3. Rename the new file to the correct name and refresh.
