Hi All,
I want to refresh a report with Excel-data. On three computers it works fine. On one it gives an error and we can't find the reason:
Error:
Cannot create process.
A deeper look in the error message shows:
Unexpected error: Cannot create process.
Details:
Microsoft.Mashup.Evaluator.Interface.ErrorException: Cannot create process. ---> System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot create process. ---> System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot create process. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: Toegang geweigerd (Access denied)
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---
Seems to be a problem in the local settings. Has anyone an idea, where to look at?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Cherry,
as described above, this are local Excel files.
I hand over the issue to our admnistration team. They will reinstall PBI Desktop and Excel.
Seems to be a real installation problem, not a direct PBI one.
Thanks for helping and Happy New Year,
Mikrobine
Hi @Anonymous,
When and where do you get the this error message?
Please refer to this similar error message which has been solved.
In addition, Please describe your steps in more details such as what gateway do you use and check if the gateway works online.
Best Regards,
Cherry
Hi Cherry,
I get this error message by trying to refresh (Menue Start -> Refresh) data in a PBI report opened local in PBI Desktop.
I don't use a gateway to get access to the local saved Excel-files (datasource). And as described, on several computers this works fine. Just one colleague of mine has the problem to get exact the error message listed above.
Thanks for the link you sent. This will not solve the problem. I can't simply install a software to bypass administration policies.
Regards,
Mikrobine
Hi @Anonymous,
It seems that you have refresh problems in Power BI Desktop.
Do you connect the local excel file or the excel file in OneDrive?
Best Regards,
Cherry
