Hi @Anonymous ,
Whether your problem has been resolved? If yes, could you please mark it as Answered? Thank you.

Hi @Anonymous,
Cyclic Redundancy Check Error caused by various factors such as registry corruption , misconfigured files , cluttered hard disk , power loss etc. This error restricts you from copying files, makes the hard disc inaccessible as well as causing trouble in initializing. You get the error when open Power BI Desktop, first please try to uninstall and re-install it. You can download the installation package or get app from Microsoft store to install. If the problem still persist on after re-installed , please refer the solution to this documentation and check if it can solve your problems.
Best Regards
Rena
I'd recommend uninstalling it and then installing the latest version.
Note, there are 2 ways to install Power BI Desktop, one is via the Windows Store. If you are still having troubles with one, try using the other method.
2nd point worth raising. A CRC error could be pointing to a failure on your hard-drive. It might be worth running a check desk or similar software on your hard-drive to make sure its not failing. If your hard-drive is starting to fail, CRC errors can start to spread to other files as the phyical drive stops working.
Good time to perform a backup if you haven't done so recently!
