Hi guys, if i develop a PBI file on one machine and open it on another, the DAX throws errors.
the only difference is the OS which is windows 7 on the dev machin and windows 10 on the other machine.
Both have the latest version of PBI.
Any idea why?
First, check if the original pbix show these measures correctly.
Then, if they are correct, you may try to create a new measure using the same logic of the measure on windows 10 on the other machine.
If error still occurs,
When you move pbix from windows 7 on the dev machin to windows 10 on the other machine,
How about the original data source?
If you connect to data source in direct query or live connection, power bi can't get data from data sources.
You need change data source setting to acess the data source.
Best Regards

Hi guys, thanks for taking a look.
its the exact same PBIX file.
its a measure, but it does it for all measures.
The report runs on the windows 10 machine, its only as soon as i select a measure to edit it, the errors are thrown.
Both Machines run the latest(september) PBI
Its almost as if the DAX library, if there is one, is installed in the wrong place and it cant find function definitions.
Is it a column or a measure?
When use the pbix on another machine, do you connect to power bi dataset from Power BI Service?
If not, how do you move a pbix in one machine to another machine?
CALCULATE function won't work if it is used in a calculated column in direct query mode or live connection mode.
Best Regards
