Custom Column error

What am I doing wrong in this case?

The issue is because one of the columns type was ABC123, after it was changed to text the formula worked.

if [x] = "yes" and if [y]="yes" then 1 else 0

It still doesn't work, even if I use 1 and 0TOKEN ERROR 2.PNG
