Hello,
I am new to BI and read as many posts and tutorials but unable to provide a new measure to provide cumulative totals per month. Table consists of "Create Date" and "Length of Installe Pipe". I woud like to add a new column to provide cumulative totals per month.
Tried to use a quick measure, Month to date total, where base value is "Sume of Length of Installed Pipe, and date is "Create Date" but give me ERROR("Time intelligence quick measures can only be grouped or filtered by the Power BI-provided data hierarchy or pirmary date column."_
Keep getting erros in the formula. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Hi @s2j6
if you need a column try
Column = CALCULATE( SUM(Table[Length of Installe Pipe]), FILTER(ALL(Table), Table[Create Date] <= EARLIER(Table[Create Date]) ) )
if you need a measure try
Measure =
CALCULATE( SUM(Table[Length of Installe Pipe]), FILTER(ALL(Table), Table[Create Date] <= SELECTEDVALUE(Table[Create Date]) ) )
