I like SSAS cubes in that it presents an organized view to the end user (business analysts) to create reports in Power BI (along with the other benefits of cubes). However, you cannot add a column when using a cube with Direct Query (too much datat too import). This would keep them from doing calculations not already in the cube or any tranformations of columns.
I am wondering if this limitation will be removed in a future version since you can already do it with views in direct query mode and it seems similar. That would dictate if I go the view or cube direction in what the end user usees to create reports.
Any comments or suggestions?
Bump, this appears to be a current issue. Any update?
Many thanks.
