Hello,
I have quite tricky request from our client and I dont know how to solve it.
The client works with different retailers and these retailers can be active and inactive or buy/sell in any month.
Is there any way that Power BI can automatically create a tab if the retailer is active in the reporting month and provide details on visuals that I created in the general tab?
PDF report should be provided at the end of the month. As of now, I am manually creating separate tabs for each exisitng retaler (could be more than 500 tabs) and filtering it by retailer code. Again, if next month the existing retailer closes and opens a new one, there will be new code and the existing tab just shows blank.
Could you please help with any ideas?
Hi @Anonymous
If all tabs are the same except for the retailer data, I would suggest creating a single page and using slicers or filters to select retailer code and reporting month. It is not easy to manage more than 500 tabs in a report. And there is a limit when exporting reports from Power BI Service to PDF that reports with more than 50 report pages currently can't be exported. I am not sure if there is a page number limit if exporting from Power BI Desktop.

@Anonymous , I doubt you can create a tab automatically
You can hide show based on need
Log an idea for Tab- https://ideas.powerbi.com/ideas/
While you can schedule pdf fro power bi - https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/export-to-pdf-and-on-demand-e-mail-subscriptions-now-available/
You can R, Python on Power Automate to data export of PDF

If this is only for your internal use (to produce the PDF) you can look into URL filters or bookmarks.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-url-filters
That way you wouldn't need to create any additional tabs.
Automatic tab generation is not currently supported.
