Hi,
We have a workspace which has dataset in it (workspace a) and the attributes of dimension have been explicitly setin the to to whole numer do not summarize.
When try and create a report against this dataset, it imports the dataset into the model in workpsace b biu overwrites this i.e sets numeric attributes such as barcode, warehouse no. to summarize.
How can we ensure that when create a report against another datset from workspace a and it inports that model it imports it correctly with the setitings defined in the data model from that datset itself (workspace a) without having to manually reset in the report in workpsace b
Thanks
Ideally don't want to have to use workaround of changing datatype of these to text in power bi desktop
yes - using get data in power bi desktop and chooisng the power bi dataset from workspace b
Don't want to have to reset the column types every time create a report against this dataset.
Just want all the reports to use the datatypes we have set against these columns in workspace a (i.e. do not summarize for the dimension attributes and whole number)
@po when you are connecting to the dataset, you are using Power BI Dataset, correct?

Hi,
worksapce a has data imported into it and went through the numeric columns setting them to do not summarize.
It is oracle 11.
workspace b - using get data option to base report on this dataset.
When you say live connection how can we best use this and woudl this setop numeric columns being set automatically to do not summarize.
Thanks
@po why you are importing it? Why not use live connection?
